Cheese Kenafe
Ingredients:
- 1 KG of vermicelli Kenafe
- 750g of Al-Draie sweet Halloumi cheese
- 3 quarter cup of vegetable oil or melted margarine
- 2 cups of sugar syrup
Method:
- Rub the Kenafe with a quarter margarine cup using your fingers then turn them over a light fire for toasting
- Brush a circle tray diameter of 40cm with margarine and put half of the Kenafe then press it well by hands
- Mash Al-Draie sweet Halloumi cheese and lay it on the first layer of the Kenafe
- Put the remaining Kenafe, in a way that covers all cheese then pour the remaining margarine over it
- The tray should bake in the oven in 350 degrees until the top and bottom become brown
- Take the tray out and leave it for 10 minutes to cool, then pour some cold sugar syrup over it.
- Leave the Kenafe aside till it absorbs all the poured sugar syrup, then varnish the Kenafe with Al-Draie cream and sprinkle some crushed pistachios and some lemon flower.
Notice: you can replace the cheese with cream.
